Effective 13 September 2026
This policy covers Home, a private home-automation application operated by Joel Oliver for a single household in Toronto, Canada. It is not offered to the public.
When a member of the household signs in with Google, the application requests access to:
It does not request your email contents, contacts, files, location history or any other Google data.
Device data is used only to display and control the thermostat in the household's own home, through a Home Assistant server located in that home. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics or model training.
OAuth tokens and device state are stored on that server, on the home network. Nothing is copied to any other service.
Data is not sold, rented or shared with anyone. It is not transferred to third parties except as required by law.
The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Access can be removed at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once revoked, the stored token stops working and device data is no longer received. Deleting the integration from the server removes the stored token and history.
